Here Comes the Sun - A Beatles Cancer Benefit Sept 20

If you are in the Chicago area, please plan to attend Here Comes the Sun, a cancer awareness health fair being held in Rogers Park on Sun Sept 20. There will be vendors from local hospitals and cancer organizations and live music by Meet the Beetles and other tribute bands.

Cancer is something that has touched most of us in some way in our life. We all miss George Harrison and Linda McCartney who were taken away too soon by this horrible disease. We also cheer for people like Brett Hudson who is fighting the good fight.

Even I sometimes get scared that I will someday get cancer because my father died from cancer a few years back and the first time I got a mammo I had to go for a biopsy. (I'm fine, thanks).

Anyway, If you are in the Chicago area on Sunday, Sept 20 check out this event. A fellow Beatle-fan named Nancy lost her husband to cancer earlier this year and pulled this together to help promote early detection and help in her own personal healing. I admire that. 2nd Cancer Survivors & Awareness Day

What:

Last year, we celebrated cancer survivorship while encouraging cancer awareness and grooved on the unforgettable tunes of the early Beatles with the fantastic sounds of the tribute band, "Meet the Beatles". The Paul character flirted, the John character spre_d his legs and the Ladies twisted. This year, "Meet the Beatles" will be back, (many thanks to them for traveling from a Wisconsin engagement). We plan on adding another Beatle Tribute Band TBA. So join us as we celebrate Victory over Cancer while creating a lot of awareness because "…all you need is love…"
